Days 3.5/4

Holter lake was brutal. Upper Holter is the south most part. We reached that halfway through Wednesday and it took most of the day going against the wind. Dad is still in the boat with me. Figured out a way to walk and pull and post the canoe since I still had two people. That was actually faster than paddling against the wind on open water.




Between Upper Holter and Holter is a remote recreation area called Gateway to the mountains. We found one of the forest service back country campsites and slept very well on soft pine needles. Saw more otters and a Lewis and Clark river boat tour. No bears🤞🤞




Day 4 (Wed) was full. Covered 33 miles total...30 of it was lake. Lots of paddling. The sail isn't really workable with two people. Mom jumped in after Holter lake and Dad went to get a hot shower.
