What a special treat yesterday. I'm still digesting all that I was privileged to see and learn, and the wonderful people I got to meet in Lexington Missouri. There is so much history in our great state.
Through a friend of a friend I was blessed with a personal tour from one of the most knowledgeable men there is about our Missouri and Kansas history. Got to see historic downtown which features a real Cannonball lodged in a column at the courthouse.
Then, we got to visit the battle of Lexington state park. A wealth of information and artifacts sourced right here locally.
Finally, a rare opportunity for an incredible tour through Linwood lawn. Formerly known as Limrick lawn, this is a mansion built back in 1859 by William Limrick, a prominent banker in Lexington Missouri. The amount of detail that went into the original construction is an engineering feat, and the quality of restoration is unsurpassed. I was awe struck and am so grateful for such an amazing, knowledgeable tour!
