Not sure if this will show well, but the locals say the feverishly starling activity indicates fall is here.

I'd have to agree. It was 41 degrees yesterday when I woke up at 3 am. Today was a little warmer at 56 degrees. Still, the fall days have arrived.

Because it's such a challenge to stay dry, this makes it challenging to stay warm, but we're making our way south quickly! Other new challenges...these may look like just grassy bushes, but if you look closer, they have more sinister capabilities. Particularly the one on the right is our new nemesis.

Realizing I haven't seen the stars many of these nights,, njoyed a night uniquely free of bugs last night with a great fire under the stars.

Sand burr's is what we always called those nasty little buggers on the right and it seems you never see them, but boy do you feel them when you step on them!
