This is the last week to prepare and pack. It's crazy that it's here. The time has gone so fast, I haven't really had time to think about it. On the agenda, resurface the canoe, add non-skid tape inside, reinforce the sail, install baskets for the water jugs, and treat materials with bug and water repellant as appropriate. Final gear inventory and Hank's training continue as well.
So far, the non-skid tape went in pretty easily, but the epoxy fought back. I'll pick up some more today, sand it down and try again. Online, they recommended using a lint-free roller. Epoxy hardens so fast, it wasn't 5 minutes before it was like rolling hard plastic against hard plastic. I think a brush might do the same thing, so going to try a squeegee at Dad's recommendation. 🤞🤞
Resupply packages are put together, and I'll have an inventory list with when and where to send each one as well as the point of contact. The goal is to have everything finished, packed and loaded in the truck by July 5th to head up north.
